Check out the Blue Ridge Mountains

In a recent effort to advertise tourism in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia and North Carolina have created the Cascade Highlands True Blue Ridge website.  I absolutely love this initiative as well as the included section on The Wine Trail.

1) If you've never been to the Blue Ridge Mountains, you are totally missing out.  Yes, the northwest is beautiful, but so are the Blue Ridge Mountains.  It's one of "Johnny Depp's" and my favorite nature spots in the entire U.S.

2) Bet ya never knew wineries were nestled in these mountain ranges!  And if you did, kudos to you!  =)  Some of my favorites featured on this Wine Trail include:

Shelton Vineyards, who are helping to put North Carolina wines on the map, and

But don't stop there!  Visit the website and you can find a whole list of enjoyable activities for the entire family or for a romantic retreat.  NOW is the time to go.  After driving through parts of the Blue Ridge Mountains Range 2 weeks ago, I was taken away by the crisp morning air, fresh green leaves, and warm afternoon sun.  If you can't make it this spring, try to go in the Fall.  Yes, New England is known for its changing seasons, but I promise you won't be disappointed here either.  Great food, great wines, great fun!
