Travel Tip: Robert Mondavi Winery

One of the best winery tours that we took part in while living in Napa Valley was at Robert Mondavi Winery, right off Highway 29.  I have to admit, the tour guides were well educated, gave a wonderful, enthusiastic story about the life of Robert Mondavi, and yet managed to successfully explain the winemaking process.

Now, "Johnny Depp" and I were lucky enough to get the Exclusive Cellar Tasting, but I hear that Signature Tour and Tasting is just as good.  Of course, there are several other tours to choose from, including the Discovery TourWine Tasting Basics, and the Twilight Tour.  There's something for everyone!

Again, I like these tours because they are educational - one will definitely walk away with a firm understanding of the winemaking process and how to appreciate wines.  And they are enjoyable - well scripted and fun.  Mondavi designed this winery to have people walk through it, and the effort didn't go unnoticed.  It was well thought-out, and the perfect tour for beginner wine drinkers.

At the end of the tour, you can meander through one of Robert Mondavi Winery gift shops.  There's a wine available for everyone's price range, style preference, and variety.
